Introduction to Weaving

Description:
We will be using Shacht 15” Cricket looms for this class, provided by Three Bags Full. We will begin by warping our looms and continue to weave a placemat 12 inches wide and approximately 18 inches long. Cricket Looms may be purchased at Three Bags Full.
In this class you will learn:
· How to warp a loom
· How to wind your shuttle
· Weaving Terminology
· Parts of a loom and the accessories
· How to choose yarns for weaving
· Discussion on heddles and dents
· How to weave a header
· How to create a plain weave placemat
· Finishing your placemat

Felted Purse on a Ball
Skill Level No Skills Necessary (This project will require a long period of standing)
Description: A wet felting project that’s sure to please! Start with raw woolen fiber and using a number of props you will turn it into a beautifully felted purse.
Duration: @ 6 hours

Graves Sweater Workshop
Skill Level: Advanced
Description: Have you always wanted a cabled sweater? .This one is a beauty. Designed by one of my favorite Berroco designers, Asa Buchta. The details on this sweater make it classic. We will be using Berroco’s new yarn Millstone Tweed for a rich texture that is warm, but light! We are spacing out the classes to give you time to complete this beauty. And we can help you every step of the way.
Duration: 2 hours for 4 weeks over a 7 week duration
Dates: Fridays – 9/20, 10/11, 10/25 & 11/8/2024 from 10:00 am - noon

Intarsia Felted Bag
Skill Level: Intermediate Knitter
Description: Make this adorable felted bag as a gift or a gift wrap – It’s simple, teaches you the Intarsia technique and how to felt as well! You will love this project and want to use the pattern over and over again!
Duration: 2 hours for 2 weeks
Dates: Saturdays – 11/2 & 11/9/2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Class Cost: $40
Materials: 100% wool. 330 yards color A, 110 yards color B. Size US 9 – 20” or longer needle.

Painting with Wool Workshop
Skill Level: No skills required
Description: Choose Grazing Sheep or Lavender Fields from Felted Sky and learn how to needle felt these beautiful designs. This simple technique creates a lovely soft framed picture by using a barbed needle and wool to felt these simple shapes.
Duration: 2 1/2 hours

Corner to Corner Afghan Workshop
Skill Level: Intermediate Crochet (you must be able to chain, slip stitch and double crochet)
Description: Simple, easy to create and easy to use. Make an afghan any size you like. Make it square or rectangular. Make it striped or solid. Learn this simple pattern and you will be able to whip up a baby afghan in a jiffy. And this technique can be used for wash cloths, scarves or full sized afghans. We will begin our pattern, and learn to turn it into a rectangle, then decrease both sides to finish the rectangle.
Duration: 2 hours
Dates: Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Class Cost: $30
Materials: One skein of worsted or DK weight yarn and hook size appropriate for selected yarn. Pick something that you can get more of if you want to continue to a larger afghan.
This project can be a great stash buster!

Mosaic Crochet Workshop
Skill Level: Intermediate Crochet – you must know how to crochet – chain, single crochet, double crochet.
Description: This class will teach you the basics of Mosaic. We will also show you some of the amazing projects you can make once you’ve learned this crochet technique
Duration: 2 hours
Dates: Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Class Cost: $30
Materials: Week 1: 2 contrasting solid color yarns and appropriately sized crochet hook

Cranky Lessons
Skill Level: Patience – not much hand knitting experience required
Description: Learn to knit socks on a Circular Sock Machine. This will be an individual lesson. We will make a sock and then help you make a sock. This challenging and fun machine will leave you with a pair of socks or a big mess. That’s why we call her Cranky!
