Past workshop projects may be worked on during regular weekly class. Workshop patterns will not be available until the workshop has been completed.


Group workshops for specific projects can be planned during the week - minimum 3 attendees. Contact the shop for information.

Knitting Tips and Tricks

  

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner ( you must be able to cast on, knit and purl)

 

Description: 30+ Tips and Tricks for knitters of all skill levels. Learn techniques to improve your knitting with lots of notes and hands-on examples.

Michelle developed this class with the intermediate knitter in mind to illuminate techniques to improve your knitting skills. Join us for a fun session that will enlighten and entertain you.

 

Duration: 3 hours

Materials: Small amount of smooth solid colored yarn in 2 contrasting colors (worsted or dk weight) and needles appropriate for yarn gauge.

Knit with Beads Workshop

 Skill Level:Intermediate ( you must be able to cast on, knit and purl)


Description: Learn how to embellish your knitting with beads to add a glitzy touch. We will cover a different technique during each week of this two week class. You will complete two different swatches and get some practice working with a chart.


Duration: 2 hours for 2 weeks

Duck/Bunny Workshop

 Skill Level: Intermediate ( you must be able to knit in the round on magic loop or double point needles)


Description: Create this cute reversible duck/bunny toy, just in time to add to the Easter baskets. This is a quick simple project that is sure to please!

Grey Gardens Entrelac Headband Workshop

Skill Level:Intermediate ( you must be able to cast on, knit and purl)


Description: Learn Entrelac Knitting, beginning with a "turban like" headband. Once you learn the Entrelac technique, you will be able to create amazing scarves, shawls and sweaters that will stop people in their tracks! (I will teach you how to "purl backwards" to reduce the amount of turning while knitting!)


Duration: 2 hours for 2 weeks

Beginner Brioche Scarf

Skill Level: Intermediate


Description: Learn to create this wonderfully squishy fabric! Brioche is a technique of two color knitting, having 1 dominant color on each side. Brioche can be done flat or in the round. The end result will be a long and lovely scarf (10" x 70").


Duration: 2 hours for 1 week
Dates:Saturday – February 15, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm


Class Cost: $30 (materials not included)
Materials:Size 4 circular 24” needle or longer, 500 yards of smooth worsted weight yarn (400 yards will make a shorter or narrower scarf)

Welcome to Magic Loop

  

Skill Level: Intermediate 

 

Description: Learn this useful technique  for knitting in the round without the use of double point needles.  This technique can be used for any number of stitches in the round - you will never have to change to a smaller length circular needle or use double point needles again.  You will be making a pair of fingerless mitts.

 

Duration: 2 hours for 1 week
Dates: Saturday – February 1, 2020  from 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Materials: Size 8 circular 40” needle, 100 grams heavy/worsted weight yarn, 2 stitch markers

Butterfly Cowl

Skill Level: Intermediate


Description: An “over the head” cowl pattern with a classic “V” shape…
this is a little sampler of the Butterfly/Papillon Shawl pattern.

It was created to make a beautiful little piece and dip your toes into the techniques of the larger Papillon Shawl project.

It is designed to be a fun, wearable piece of art and employs short rows to create the shapes with both yarn over increases and M1R / M1L increases.
You only work one color at a time.


Duration: 2 Sessions of 2 hours each

Patterned Yoke Sweater

  

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced


Description: This sweater is knit in the round. Short-row shaping lends a slight dip at the front neck; raglan armhole increasing adds a hint of tailoring. The slight swing fit at the lower and bound-off edges is finished with a rib inset, then completed with rolled trims.
 

Duration: Session 1 - 1 hour, Session 2 thru 4 - 2 hours each

Try Your Hand at Spinning

Skill Level: no skills required


Description: Learn to use a drop spindle to create your own yarn. This class is an introduction to the equipment, supplies and technique to drop spindle spinning. Learn about the types of fiber, how to draft the fiber and spin a single ply, then combine the plies into yarn.

 

Duration: 2 hours
